MURAT GURMEN
Murat Gürmen began his dance career as a dancer and instructor after studying Musicology (Folk Dances) at Hacettepe University. He discovered tango in 1998 and, throughout this period, had the opportunity to work many times with renowned masters of the international tango world.During this time, he participated in the 3rd World Argentine Tango Festival in Argentina and won 1st place in the competition he entered, earning the right to participate in the 2004 Festival. In 2007, he achieved 2nd place in the first Argentine Tango competition ever held in Turkey.In 2000, he was among the founders of Shine Dance Studio, where he continues to teach, and he has worked as an instructor at many universities for many years. He has given workshops and performed in Russia, France, Cyprus, and many cities across Turkey.Since the establishment of Shine Dance Studio in 2000, he has been regularly DJing at milonga nights and has performed as a Tango DJ in numerous organizations, primarily in Ankara, Istanbul, Izmir, Bursa, Adana, Mersin, Eskişehir, and Cyprus.He has attended many workshops related to Tango DJing and has drawn inspiration from world-renowned Tango DJs. In this respect, he has become one of the first regularly performing Tango DJs in Turkey.With a wide repertoire ranging from classical to nuevo styles, he aims to play the best pieces of each era during his sets, encouraging dancers to stay longer on the dance floor and fully enjoy their dancing experience.
